CAF Orga­ni­za­tion

The Cana­dian Aikido Fed­er­a­tion (CAF) has existed for over 20 years. On April 25, 1997, the CAF received offi­cial char­ter as a non-profit cor­po­ra­tion from the Direc­torate of Incor­po­ra­tion, Indus­try Canada. The by-laws gov­ern­ing the CAF are detailed in the CAF con­sti­tu­tion, a copy of which is pro­vided to all reg­is­tered CAF dojos.

CAF Admin­is­tra­tive Office

The Office of the CAF is gen­er­ally located where the CAF Sec­re­tary resides.
The cur­rent Sec­re­tary is Dou­glas Math­ieu who is located in Cal­gary, Alberta.

Tech­ni­cal Direction

CAF oper­ates a tech­ni­cal com­mit­tee and an exam­i­na­tion com­mit­tee chaired by our Tech­ni­cal Direc­tor who cur­rently holds a 7th Dan rank in Aikido.

Affil­i­a­tion to Aikikai Foun­da­tion, Aikido World Head­quar­ters (Hombu Dojo)

The CAF is ded­i­cated to the teach­ings of Mori­hei Ueshiba, the Founder of Aikido and is a mem­ber of the Aikikai Foun­da­tion, Aikido World Head­quar­ters (Hombu Dojo) in Tokyo, Japan.

The CAF is affil­i­ated with Aikikai World Head­quar­ters (Hombu Dojo) in Tokyo, Japan. Yudan­sha pro­mo­tions are reg­is­tered with the Aikikai Foun­da­tion, Aikido World Head­quar­ters through the CAF office. View Cer­tifi­cate

Provin­cial Associations

Each province or ter­ri­tory with a rec­og­nized Asso­ci­a­tion of mem­ber Dojos is enti­tled to send a del­e­gate to the CAF annual gen­eral meet­ing to vote on CAF busi­ness as described in detail in the CAF con­sti­tu­tion. CAF Annual Gen­eral Meeting

The CAF Annual Gen­eral Meet­ing (AGM) is held at dif­fer­ent loca­tions across Canada.
Del­e­gates from the reg­is­tered Provin­cial Aikido Asso­ci­a­tions and the Board of Direc­tors meet at the AGM to dis­cuss CAF busi­ness. The AGM is most often held in con­junc­tion with a train­ing seminar.
